A Warm Welcome
Jo & Colin welcome you to ‘Little Orchard House’ which has been a ‘Bed & Breakfast’ since January 2017.
“After completely renovating the house, and putting a large extension on the back of the property, we found ourselves rattling around.
Many of the rooms were not being used from one month to the next, and so we decided to make use of the space, and offer an affordable alternative for those wanting to be close to Salcombe.”
Having lived in Devon all my life, and until recently running a local pub with my daughter, I have experience of the area and how to run a Bed & Breakfast.
Malborough has been our home for over 15 years, and it is a lovely local village. It is perfectly located for access to many beaches and walks, and we are happy to provide any advice or information to ensure you have a wonderful stay.
All of our rooms have been furnished with a coastal theme to add to the atmosphere of staying so close to the sea, but without the hassle of too many people. Each room has a flat screen T.V, tea & coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. For your comfort, you will find free toiletries and a hairdryer in each room. Little Orchard House features free WiFi throughout.
We have a private breakfast/lounge for our guests, and are more than happy for you to use this room whenever they want, whether ordering a takeaway, checking emails using our free wi-fi, or watching a different programme than your partner. This cosy room is centrally heated, and in the colder months the small wood burner will be lit.
The Portside Room
The Portside Room is at the front of the house and is dual aspect, allowing light to flood in. This bright and airy room has views over the countryside, and being set back from the road, noise is minimal.
The Kingsize bed has a quality mattress, and luxury bedding which guarantees a comfortable night’s sleep. Tea & Coffee making facilities are provided, along with a small fridge which can hold a bottle of wine, and has complimentary fruit juice and water. Wine glasses, chiller, and bottle opener are also provided.
The room is centrally heated, and has a wall mounted flat screen T.V. A hairdryer & straighteners are provided for your convenience. The ensuite shower room is kept lovely and warm with a heated towel rail. Complimentary shampoo/shower gel is provided, along with sumptuous towels.

The Starboard Room
The Starboard room is at the front of the house, and is the largest of our rooms. It has views over the countryside, and being south facing it is lovely and bright.
The Kingsize bed has a quality mattress and luxury bedding, and being away from the road, it’s almost impossible not to have a good night’s sleep. There is a large comfortable chair for watching the flat screen T.V, or for relaxing in with a book. All our rooms have central heating and are kept lovely and warm in the winter. There is a small wardrobe and matching antique dressing table, for storing your belongings, and also a cupboard with wine glasses & chiller.
The small fridge can hold a bottle of wine or beers, and complimentary fruit juice/water is provided. A hairdryer and straighteners are provided along with complimentary shampoo/shower gel. This room is ensuite with a roll top bath and large separate shower cubicle. You can relax, uninterrupted in the huge roll top bath with a glass of wine, or freshen up in the newly installed large shower cubicle.

Garden View Self-Catering Apartment
‘Garden View Self-Catering Apartment’ is an open plan apartment set in the rear garden of ‘Little Orchard House’ with ample secure parking for a large car, and even a small boat.
It has a private raised decked area which benefits from both the morning and evening sunshine, and a ‘Juliette’ balcony which allows light & fresh air to flood in.
The newly fitted kitchen has an induction hob, oven, microwave, kettle & toaster, and fridge freezer, along with all the other essentials. If you don’t fancy cooking ‘Ashby’s’ is a 30 minute walk, or 5 minute drive, along the main Salcombe Road,
where they have lovely breakfast menu, with stunning countryside/estuary views and outdoor seating.
The lounge has a lovely Chesterfield sofa, and flat screen T.V. along with many books and DVD’s for guests use. Free wi-fi is also available. The bedroom has a fabulous ‘Super Kingsize bed’ and luxury bedding is supplied. A hairdryer is also provided for your convenience. Light the candles and relax in the bath or take a refreshing shower. Luxury fluffy towels and toiletries are provided.
Minimum 3 night stay.

Midships Lodge
Midships is a privately-owned luxury lodge located on a select development of only 34 lodges located only 5 miles from Salcombe, and the beautiful beaches of Soar Mill & Hope Cove.
This is the perfect place to relax and explore, on a quiet corner plot surrounded by fields. The lodge can sleep 6 people, with two double beds, and two singles. The main double bedroom has substainal storage comprising of fitted sliding wardrobes from floor to ceiling, a vanity area, and bedside cabinets. It also has a flat screen tv. The second of the double bedrooms, has hanging space for a few clothes, a chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. This room also has a flat screen tv. The 3rd bedroom, although small, has two 3ft single beds, a bedside cabinet between the beds, and a large fitted wardrobe with mirrors. This room is more suitable for children, but is adequate for adults. This room does not have a tv.
The lodge boast two well equipped bathrooms, one with bath/ shower, basin and wc, the other shower, basin & wc. Fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ. During the height of the season, Midships is generally rented out for a full week, starting on Saturdays.
